I'm a student in Canada preparing for a cloud operations co-op position that starts in about two months. I last worked with AWS a year ago during a cloud architecture co-op at a small contracting company, where I gained useful experience but haven't used the platform recently. My upcoming responsibilities will involve supporting cloud applications, automation, infrastructure health, application and database monitoring, infrastructure as code, and security and compliance. I'm looking for recommendations on courses, hands-on labs, or training environments that can help me regain confidence and practice regularly. Would a simulated enterprise sandbox be useful, or would I be better off rebuilding practical AWS projects on my own?

A practical refresher may be more useful than taking a broad course from start to finish. Spend a week or two rebuilding a small environment with EC2, IAM, VPC networking, and CloudWatch. Then add some Terraform so you’re practicing infrastructure as code instead of only clicking through the console. AWS Skill Builder labs can help fill in gaps and give you guided exercises.
