Chrome and Discord still list a device called "Twitch Virtual Cam," even though Twitch Studio has been completely uninstalled. The Twitch camera no longer appears in Streamlabs or Device Manager, including hidden devices, and searching for and removing Twitch-related files and registry entries has not fixed it. Selecting the real webcam in Chrome's camera settings also does not help because a job application detects multiple cameras rather than simply using the default. How can the leftover virtual camera registration be removed?

The entry may be registered as an old DirectShow camera filter, which explains why it can appear in Chrome and Discord without showing in Device Manager. Back up the registry first, then search the full registry—not just one location—for “Twitch Virtual” and remove only clearly matching obsolete camera entries. The relevant camera registration areas are commonly under the Windows camera CLSID keys {860BB310-5D01-11d0-BD3B-00A0C911CE86} and {A3FCE0F5-3493-419F-958A-ABA1250EC20B}, particularly their Instances subkeys. Reboot after making changes and reopen Chrome.
This is probably a leftover virtual-camera registration from Twitch Studio, not a normal device that Chrome is inventing. First, completely close Chrome, including every background chrome.exe process, then reboot and check again. You can also set the physical webcam under Chrome’s camera permissions, but some assessment sites still reject systems with more than one registered camera.
Under the CLSID camera keys, the Instances section can contain registrations for old virtual devices. Removing the obsolete Twitch-related instance, rather than unrelated webcam entries, fixed the duplicate-camera listing for others. Make sure Chrome is fully closed before checking again, since browsers can cache the available camera list.
Selecting my physical webcam does not solve it because the assessment site still detects multiple devices. The Twitch camera also does not appear in Device Manager, even with hidden devices enabled.
