I recently got a new Windows 11 PC, but Sleep is missing from the power menu. I normally use Sleep instead of shutting down so I can quickly resume my work and keep my open tabs available. I checked the usual settings and Control Panel, and Hibernation was the only option that wasn't enabled. How can I bring Sleep mode back, and could missing drivers or unsupported hardware be the cause?

Sleep may be unavailable if the selected power plan disables it or if the hardware only supports a different sleep state, such as Modern Standby. Run `powercfg /a` in Command Prompt to see which sleep states Windows detects. Missing or incorrect drivers are a common reason, so reinstall the manufacturer’s chipset, graphics, and firmware updates if the option is absent.
Open Control Panel, go to Power Options, and select “Choose what the power buttons do.” Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable,” then look under Shutdown settings and enable “Sleep.” Save the changes, and it should appear in the Start menu’s power options.
You can also press Alt+F4 while focused on the desktop and choose Sleep from the dropdown. If Sleep isn’t listed there either, check your power settings and install the proper chipset and graphics drivers from the PC or motherboard manufacturer.
