PowerShell ISE takes roughly 90–120 seconds to finish loading on a shared server used for remote work. The regular PowerShell console also takes around 20–30 seconds to become usable. Both the system and program-wide module directories contain more than 100 files, with many belonging to VMware. I do not use those VMware modules, although other teams may still need them. Is there a way to prevent PowerShell from searching or automatically loading the VMware modules for my profile without removing them for everyone else?

Before changing the module path, check what is actually causing the delay. Look at your profile and any scripts that run at startup for `Import-Module`, VMware cmdlets, or commands that trigger module auto-loading. You can also start PowerShell without profiles using `powershell.exe -NoProfile`; if that starts quickly, the profile or one of its imported modules is the likely cause. The duplication between module folders may also be worth cleaning up, especially older module versions, but do that only after confirming they are not needed.
Modules usually are not loaded just because they exist in a module directory. PowerShell searches the locations in `$env:PSModulePath`, so you can set a profile-specific path that leaves out the VMware module directory. For example, save the current value, filter out the unwanted path, and assign the result back to `$env:PSModulePath` in your profile. Be careful not to remove shared paths if you still need other modules, and test this with the other users or scripts that depend on VMware.
The same delay in the normal console suggests this is not only an ISE display problem. VMware modules can add noticeable startup overhead when they are imported or scanned. Disabling the command list pane in ISE may improve the interface somewhat, but it will not fix a profile or module-loading delay. Since the ISE is no longer receiving new features, Visual Studio Code with the PowerShell extension is the usual modern replacement, though it will not by itself solve a slow profile.
