Go with two sticks if you can afford them. A 2×16GB kit enables dual-channel memory, which can improve average frame rates and especially 1% lows. Depending on the game and whether you’re CPU- or GPU-limited, the difference could be anywhere from barely noticeable to around 10–25%. In a GPU-bound game, it may only be a few percent, while CPU-heavy games can benefit more.
The Patriot kit is the stronger option on paper: DDR5-6000 with CL30 is faster and has lower latency than DDR5-5600 CL36. If your platform supports it, that speed is generally a good target for modern gaming systems. Just make sure both modules are installed in the motherboard’s recommended paired slots, usually the second and fourth slots.
A single 32GB DDR5 stick will work, and DDR5’s internal subchannels make the gap less extreme than with older memory, but it still doesn’t provide the same full memory-channel bandwidth as two modules. For a gaming build, 2×16GB is the better choice and is also a matched kit that should be easier to run at its rated settings.
