Is a 500W PSU enough for an RTX 5070?

I'm new to upgrading my computer parts and I'm wondering if a 500W power supply unit (PSU) can handle an RTX 5070. I know that the GPU has a maximum power consumption of around 250W. My setup also includes an i7-8700 6-core processor and a DVD-RW drive. Will a 500W PSU be sufficient?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend using a 500W PSU with that setup. Most 500W PSUs aren't the best quality, and you might run into issues with cables or stability. What model do you actually have?

I found the model online—"hp part no 918585 001" from my prebuilt HP OMEN 880 from 2019. I plugged my parts into a power supply calculator, and it said I’d need about 460-470W. I'm contemplating a 1KW PSU, but that feels like a hassle to replace, so I was wondering if I could just switch out the GPU first. I just don't want to break anything!
