I recently moved my G443 gaming PC to the basement and connected it to an APC UPS rated at 600 VA and 330 watts. Browsing and watching videos work normally, but launching Helldivers makes the UPS indicator turn amber and triggers a continuous alarm. The alarm stops when I close the game. I understand this may mean the system is exceeding the UPS's rated load. Is it safe to keep gaming this way, or should I replace the UPS?

The overload itself is not normally going to damage the PC, but repeated UPS shutdowns can cause data loss or filesystem problems if they happen during writes. The 330-watt limit is simply too low for many gaming PCs once the graphics card is working hard.
The UPS is being overloaded when the GPU starts drawing more power. It will keep beeping and may eventually shut off, which could abruptly cut power to the PC. That is not a safe setup for gaming, so avoid using it under load.
A UPS is mainly meant to provide short-term backup so you can shut down safely or switch to another power source; it is not a generator. Replace it with a model whose watt rating comfortably exceeds the computer’s actual maximum draw. A 1500 VA unit may be a reasonable starting point, but check its watt rating rather than relying only on VA.
