I'm considering paying $150 for Harvard's CS50 course because it includes a certificate and an AI-related feature. The course content appears to be available for free, though, so I'm unsure whether the paid version offers enough value to justify the cost. Is the certificate useful for college credit, job applications, or anything else?

For learning, you probably don’t need to pay. The course materials and lectures are available for free, and employers generally care more about what you can build and explain than a certificate from an introductory course.
The paid option may be worth considering if you specifically need a formal certificate or can use it for recognized college credit. Otherwise, $150 is probably better spent on a project, book, or more advanced course.
I wouldn’t expect the certificate to make much difference in a job search. CS50 can be a great way to learn programming fundamentals, but completing projects and building a portfolio will usually demonstrate your skills more effectively.
