I'm looking for a way to quickly protect the data on my Realme RMX3201 if someone else gets access to it—ideally by securely wiping the phone or making the data inaccessible. Does Android offer an app or built-in feature for this? I'm not looking to damage the hardware, and I'm unsure whether root access or a custom operating system would be required.

Without root or system-level support, a normal Android app usually can’t intentionally brick the phone or reliably erase everything. Even with root, deliberately damaging the device is risky and could leave the data recoverable or make the phone permanently unusable.
A duress PIN or panic-wipe feature is generally provided by certain privacy-focused operating systems rather than ordinary apps. GrapheneOS is one example, but it isn’t compatible with this Realme model. Avoid random APKs that claim they can brick or wipe the device, since they may be malicious or unreliable.
Before choosing a destructive solution, set up a long PIN rather than a pattern, enable automatic screen locking, keep the phone encrypted, and configure remote wiping through your Google account. Test the recovery options beforehand so you know they work if the phone is lost or seized.
Since this phone can’t run GrapheneOS, the safer options are a strong lock-screen passcode, encryption, and Android’s built-in Find My Device remote-erase feature.
