The proposed upgrade is a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB of Patriot Viper Venom DDR5-6000 CL30, a Gigabyte B850M Gaming X WiFi motherboard, and a Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB, costing about €1300. Will I need to replace anything else for these parts to work, such as the cooler, power supply, storage, or case? Also, is this a balanced upgrade for 1440p, or would I be better off using a less expensive CPU and putting the savings toward a stronger graphics card?

The bigger concern is balance. A 9800X3D is an excellent gaming CPU, but pairing it with an RX 9060 XT means a large part of the budget is going toward a processor that may not improve 1440p performance as much as a stronger GPU would. A cheaper X3D chip, such as a 7800X3D if priced well, combined with an RX 9070 XT could provide a more noticeable upgrade in demanding games.
The parts should be compatible as a platform: the 9800X3D and DDR5 memory require the new AM5 motherboard, while your existing NVMe drive, SATA SSD, case, and 750W Seasonic PSU should generally be reusable. Check that the Arctic cooler includes the correct AM5 mounting hardware, since you may need an upgrade bracket. Also verify the graphics card’s length against the H510’s available clearance and make sure the case has decent airflow.
The RX 9060 XT is more naturally aimed at 1080p or lighter 1440p gaming. For 1440p, especially with demanding titles, spending the extra €200–€300 on a higher-tier card may be worthwhile. The 9800X3D makes the most sense if you specifically want very high CPU-limited frame rates or plan to upgrade the graphics card later.
