The improvement depends heavily on your resolution, graphics settings, monitor refresh rate, and whether you’re currently CPU-limited. You’ll probably see better minimum FPS and smoother gameplay in Rust, but average FPS may not increase dramatically if the RTX 3060 is already the limiting part. At a high price, upgrading the graphics card may offer a more visible benefit, and that GPU could later move into an AM5 system.
A cheaper X3D option may be enough for your RTX 3060. A 5600X3D, where available, or a 5500X3D from a reputable seller can deliver much of the gaming benefit for less money. The 5800X3D is still the strongest AM4 gaming upgrade, but its price needs to be reasonable.
