I enabled Secure Boot in the UEFI/BIOS settings while trying to meet a game security requirement. Since then, my laptop says there is no boot device and keeps returning to the BIOS instead of starting Windows. I tried disabling Secure Boot and saving the changes, but after restarting it goes back into the BIOS with Secure Boot enabled again. I'm not very familiar with computer settings and didn't check whether Windows was installed in Legacy/CSM mode or using an MBR drive before changing this.

This often happens when Windows was installed in Legacy/CSM mode on an MBR disk, but Secure Boot requires a UEFI installation. Check the BIOS boot settings for Legacy, CSM, or UEFI mode and restore the mode Windows was originally using. Also confirm that the Windows Boot Manager or the correct system drive is first in the boot order. If Secure Boot keeps turning itself back on, use the BIOS option to load default settings, save, reboot, and then change only the necessary setting. Don’t reinstall Windows or convert the drive until you’ve confirmed the current boot mode and made sure your files are backed up.
