I'm looking for a mouse with a detachable cable that can work in wired mode and switch to Bluetooth when wireless. I'd prefer Bluetooth over a 2.4 GHz USB receiver so I don't have to keep track of a dongle. It'll mainly be used for work, so it doesn't need to be a high-end gaming mouse. For reference, I like the size, shape, and weight of my Razer Basilisk V3. I work in operational security, where Razer Synapse and similar peripheral software can be considered unwanted software or even trigger security alerts, so I'd prefer something that can function well without proprietary drivers. The Basilisk V3 Pro and Logitech G502 Lightspeed are currently on my list, but I'd appreciate alternatives, especially ones available in Hungary.

The Logitech MX Master series is worth considering for office work. The MX Master 3S is especially comfortable and has excellent ergonomics, a scroll wheel, and Bluetooth support. Just be aware that its USB-C cable is primarily for charging; it doesn’t function as a normal wired mouse while connected.
The Logitech G502 X Lightspeed is another good option if you want something closer to the Basilisk shape. It has a detachable cable and works wired or through its wireless receiver, but it does not offer Bluetooth. The regular G502 Lightspeed has the same general limitation.
For alternatives, use a mouse-shape comparison site to find models close to the Basilisk’s dimensions. Options such as the Keychron M7 or Mchose G7 may offer a similar shape at a lower price, though you should verify whether the exact version supports Bluetooth as well as wired use.
Razer hardware can be decent, but Synapse is a legitimate concern if you work in a locked-down security environment. Some people have had good experiences with newer Razer mice, while others dislike the software and occasional scroll-wheel problems. If you choose one, check whether it can save settings to onboard memory and operate without Synapse installed.
The G903 can operate wired or wirelessly, but its wireless connection is through a USB receiver rather than Bluetooth. It also seems expensive or difficult to find in some countries, so availability and pricing may make it less appealing.
That’s the issue I ran into too. In Hungary it’s either unavailable or priced close to €200, which makes the G502 Lightspeed easier to justify.
That wired limitation is important here. It supports Bluetooth or Logitech’s 2.4 GHz receiver, but plugging in the cable only charges it.
