My Windows 11 PC was working normally until today, when my mouse started responding strangely. Clicking apps or other items often takes several seconds to register unless I press unusually hard. I tried a different mouse, but the same delay happened. My Wooting 80HE keyboard is also randomly disconnecting for anywhere from less than a second to several seconds, as if it were unplugged, even though the USB cable is secure. Occasionally, pressing a key seems to trigger a disconnect. Since both problems began on the same day, I suspect they may be related. What should I check first?

Try moving both devices to different USB ports, preferably the ports directly on the back of the PC rather than front-panel ports or a hub. If the mouse uses a wireless USB receiver, keep it away from other USB devices and try a different port for the receiver too. Also check Windows Update and your motherboard or chipset USB drivers.
Because a second mouse has the same delayed clicking and the keyboard is dropping at the same time, this sounds more like a USB, chipset, power-management, or system issue than two faulty peripherals. Restart the PC, disconnect unnecessary USB devices, and disable USB selective suspend or USB power-saving options if the problem continues. If it started after a recent driver or Windows update, checking for a newer update or rolling back the recent driver may help.
The keyboard is wired, and the mouse uses a USB wireless receiver rather than Bluetooth, but I’ll try the rear ports and check the drivers.
