Several different games are closing immediately after launch without showing an error. This happens with Fortnite through Epic Games Launcher, Battlefield 2 through Steam, and ARC Raiders through Steam. The system has an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti. Basic quick fixes have not helped. Windows Reliability Monitor reports a LiveKernelEvent, although its technical details also mention Microsoft GameInput being reconfigured successfully. What should I check to determine whether the cause is the graphics driver, hardware, or something else?

A LiveKernelEvent can point to a graphics driver or GPU-related problem, so try a clean NVIDIA driver installation. Download the current driver, choose the custom installation option, and select the clean-install option if available. Also remove any GPU overclock or undervolt, disable overlays from launchers and monitoring tools, and make sure Windows is fully updated. If the crashes continue, test the GPU and system memory rather than repeatedly reinstalling games.
Run hardware checks to rule out instability: use Windows Memory Diagnostic or MemTest86 for RAM, and CrystalDiskInfo to check drive health. Monitor GPU temperatures and power behavior while launching a game. If possible, test with another graphics driver version and verify that the GPU power cables are firmly connected. The GameInput installer entry showing a successful status is probably incidental and does not by itself explain the crashes.
More system information is needed, especially the Windows version, CPU, RAM, power supply, recent driver or hardware changes, and the exact NVIDIA driver version. Since multiple games from different launchers crash in the same way, the launcher is probably not the common cause. Check Reliability Monitor for the actual LiveKernelEvent details and note the faulting component or any accompanying error codes rather than only the general summary.

I checked the technical details, but they mainly mention Microsoft GameInput being reconfigured successfully. There is no visible error message when the games close.
