My iPad Air with the M2 chip suddenly stopped charging, even though the charger works normally with other devices. I'm not getting any charging response and want to know whether there are any troubleshooting steps left to try or if the battery or charging port may need service.

Try another known-good USB-C cable and power adapter, then check the iPad’s USB-C port for lint or debris. If it’s dirty, carefully clean it with a non-metallic tool or compressed air. You can also force-restart the iPad and leave it connected to power for about 30 minutes. Since the iPad can charge an iPhone, that only confirms its USB-C port can output power—it doesn’t prove the iPad is receiving power correctly. If there’s still no response, the port, charging circuitry, or battery may need professional inspection.
I tried those steps and it still won’t charge. Since it can charge my iPhone, does that mean the iPad battery is dead and needs replacement?
