No Display Output on a Newly Built PC—How Can I Diagnose It?

I'm building a PC with an ASUS Prime B550-A WiFi II motherboard, Ryzen 5 4500 CPU, Wraith Stealth cooler, ASUS RTX 2060 6GB, one unbranded 4GB DDR4-2133 stick, one Corsair 4GB DDR4-2400 stick, a CIT 600W FX Pro power supply, and a WD Black SN750 500GB NVMe SSD. The system powers on, the motherboard lights up, and both the CPU and GPU fans spin, but my 1080p Samsung TV reports no HDMI signal. I tried both HDMI ports on the graphics card and also the motherboard's video output. There is no operating system or driver installation yet. The motherboard shows a steady orange light. Could this be a RAM problem, a faulty graphics card, or something else?

The Ryzen 5 4500 does not have integrated graphics, so the motherboard’s HDMI output cannot produce a picture. The monitor must be connected to the RTX 2060. Reseat the card, make sure its PCIe power cable is connected, and confirm the TV is set to the correct HDMI input. Also try clearing CMOS before testing again.

An orange diagnostic light commonly points to a memory problem, although the exact meaning depends on the board’s labeling. Give the first boot a few minutes after changing the RAM, since memory training can take longer than expected. If neither stick works alone, reseat the RAM firmly, clear CMOS, and check that the 24-pin motherboard and 8-pin CPU power connectors are fully inserted.

The lack of an operating system or drivers is not the cause—the PC should still show the firmware screen. If single-stick RAM testing and a CMOS reset do nothing, test the RTX 2060 in another known-working system or use another graphics card. The second-hand GPU and the low-end used power supply are both worth treating as possible hardware faults.

Start with the memory. Remove one stick and test only the Corsair module in slot B2, which the manual identifies as the primary single-stick slot. If that does not work, try only the other module in B2. Mixing two different brands and speeds can prevent the first boot, so get the system working with one stick before trying both.
