I recently installed a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT along with an NZXT C850 Gold Core power supply because my previous power supply didn't have a native 12V-2x6 cable. Since the swap, the computer has randomly frozen and required a forced shutdown with the power button. After restarting, AMD Adrenalin says the overclocking settings were reset because of a system crash, even though the GPU is running at stock settings. This never happened with my previous be quiet! System Power 9 750W. I already used DDU in Safe Mode, rebooted without an internet connection, and installed the latest AMD driver. The freezing has become less frequent, but I'm still wondering whether the new power supply or its cabling could be responsible. I'm using only the cables that came with the NZXT PSU, and the GPU power connector is fully seated without a gap or sharp bend.

The GPU power connector is still worth inspecting closely because high-power connectors can cause trouble when they are not fully engaged. If the connection is definitely correct, the next useful test would be to reinstall the old PSU or test another known-good unit. If the freezes disappear, the new PSU or its cable may be faulty; if they remain, the cause is probably elsewhere, such as memory, motherboard firmware, or the GPU itself.
The Adrenalin message does not prove that the card was overclocked. It commonly appears after any hard crash, including crashes while everything is running at stock settings. Since the issue began after the PSU change, check the 12V-2x6 connection carefully: push it in until it clicks, make sure there is no visible gap, and avoid bending the cable immediately next to the connector. A partially seated plug can cause intermittent freezes.
First, make absolutely sure the GPU is connected with the NZXT cables that came with this specific power supply. Modular PSU cables are not interchangeable between brands or models, even when the plugs look identical. Using the old cables could damage components or cause instability.
I’m only using the new cables supplied with the NZXT power supply.

The plug is firmly seated with no gap, and I made sure the cable is not bent near the connector.
