Should I upgrade from an RTX 3060 before GPU prices rise further?

I'm currently using an RTX 3060 at 1080p and want to move to a 1440p OLED monitor. I was hoping a GPU upgrade would be enough for now, and I'm considering an RTX 4070 Super, 4070 Ti, or RTX 5070. However, second-hand prices in the UK have gone up sharply, with RTX 5070 cards costing around £600–700. Does anyone who follows the hardware market have a sense of whether prices are likely to come down soon, or should I just buy now?

Try the 3060 with the new monitor first. Depending on the games and settings, it can still manage 1440p around 60 FPS, especially with DLSS. It may handle newer games at medium settings reasonably well, so testing it could save you spending hundreds for an upgrade that doesn’t feel dramatic.
