I've finished choosing my components, saved up, and started buying the parts for my first PC build. Before everything arrives, I want to make sure I have any useful tools or small accessories on hand. Do I need things like thermal paste, special screwdrivers, anti-static equipment, cable ties, or spare screws, or will most of that come with the components?

Cable ties or reusable Velcro straps are handy for tidying cables. Fan splitters, cable extensions, extra M.2 screws, and protective CPU contact plates can be useful in specific builds, but none of them are essential. A small electronics screwdriver kit is convenient if you don’t already have suitable tools.
You’ll get the required screws and mounting hardware with the case, motherboard, and other components. An anti-static wrist strap is optional; I’ve built plenty of systems without one. Just work on a hard surface, avoid carpeting if possible, and occasionally touch the metal case to discharge static.
A basic #2 Phillips screwdriver is usually all you need. A smaller #1 Phillips can help with M.2 drive screws. Your CPU cooler will generally include thermal paste, either pre-applied or in a small tube, so you usually don’t need to buy extra.
