I've finished choosing my components, saved up, and started buying the parts for my first PC build. Before everything arrives, I want to make sure I have any useful tools or small extras, such as thermal paste, screwdrivers, cable management supplies, or anything else that might make the build easier. What should I have ready?

Cable ties or reusable Velcro straps are handy for keeping the wiring tidy. Fan splitters and cable extensions can be useful if your case or power supply needs them, but they’re optional and should only be bought after checking your cable lengths and available headers.
A #2 Phillips screwdriver is usually all you need, and a smaller #1 Phillips can be helpful for installing an M.2 drive. The screws should come with the case and components, while thermal paste is normally pre-applied or included with the CPU cooler. Check the cooler’s instructions before buying more.
You generally don’t need a special PC-building kit. A regular screwdriver, a clean workspace, and a little patience are enough. Keep the component manuals nearby, and use the motherboard box as a convenient nonconductive surface while working.
An anti-static wrist strap is optional. It can provide extra peace of mind, but you can usually avoid static problems by working on a hard surface, touching the metal case before handling parts, and not building on carpet. Extra M.2 screws are nice to have, but they’re rarely necessary.
