I'm thinking about replacing my Radeon RX 7600 with something stronger for newer games. My budget is roughly $300, although I hadn't originally included money from selling the RX 7600. My current system uses a Ryzen 7 5800XT, a B550 TUF Gaming motherboard, and the RX 7600. I'll probably move to an AM5 platform sometime next year, so I'm mainly looking for a worthwhile GPU upgrade that makes sense in the meantime. Used cards are an option, but I'd like advice on which models to consider and where to sell my current card.

For a brand-new card around this price, the options are limited, and something like an RTX 5050 would be closer to a sidegrade than a major performance jump from the RX 7600. I’d either wait, sell the RX 7600 and increase the budget, or hunt for a used card with a clear performance increase. Local marketplaces and established used-hardware listings are common options, but use protected payment methods when possible and avoid shipping or payment arrangements that offer no buyer protection.
Does that budget include whatever you can get for selling the RX 7600? Adding its resale value could open up better options. A used RX 6700 XT or a similar higher-tier card would be a more meaningful upgrade than buying a new entry-level model.

With about $300, the used market is probably your best bet. An RTX 3080 could be a strong upgrade if you find one at a good price, but make sure your power supply has enough wattage and the necessary connectors. Check the card’s condition and test it before buying.
