I'm planning a new gaming-focused PC because my current system is starting to feel dated. The draft includes a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a 360 mm Arctic liquid cooler, an MSI B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi motherboard, 32 GB of DDR5-6000 memory, a 2 TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, a Radeon RX 9070 XT, an NZXT H5 Flow case, and an MSI 850 W Gold modular power supply. I'd appreciate feedback on compatibility, value, and any parts you would replace. I'm especially unsure whether the 9800X3D is worth the premium over a 7800X3D for gaming and whether the selected power supply is a good choice.

For a gaming-only build, you could spend less on the processor and still get excellent performance. The rest of the parts look solid, but the 9800X3D may not be worth the extra cost unless you want the absolute highest frame rates or plan to keep the CPU for a long time.
I’d consider a revised parts list with a less expensive RGB memory kit, a different NVMe drive at the same price, and a slightly better power supply if it costs less. You could also use the RGB version of the cooler if matching lighting is important and add a pack of case fans. I’d research the motherboard’s onboard audio before buying, or look for a reasonably priced X870E alternative if you find one on sale.
I removed that exact power supply from my own system because it was extremely loud while gaming—basically like a hair dryer. My older 750 W Thermaltake unit is much quieter, so I’d look for a quieter, better-reviewed model rather than choosing solely by wattage.
