I'm upgrading my PC on a budget of around $250 and need a replacement for my Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 8GB. Would an ASRock Radeon RX 5700 8GB Challenger D OC work with my existing hardware, and how would its gaming performance compare? I'd still like to play games such as Palworld, even if I have to use low settings. The RX 5700 I found is pre-owned, so I'm trying to figure out whether it's a reasonable temporary option.

The RX 5700 would work in most systems that support the RTX 3070, but it would be a noticeable performance downgrade. It can still run games like Palworld at low settings, though you should expect to reduce resolution or other settings depending on your CPU and the rest of the system.
I wouldn’t recommend replacing the 3070 with an RX 5700 unless you absolutely need a temporary card. Look for a used RX 9060 XT instead, or wait until you can afford something that matches or improves on the 3070.
A better move would be to save a little more for a Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM. It may cost roughly $50 more, but it offers stronger performance and much more memory headroom. I’d avoid the 8GB version if possible.
