What’s the best way to upgrade my Ryzen 7 5700 and RTX 4060 Ti PC?

I bought a CyberPowerPC in 2023 mainly for gaming and didn't pay much attention to the individual components. It has an AMD Ryzen 7 5700, 16GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM, and a 2TB SSD. I have around $200 to spend and I'm wondering what upgrade would make the most sense. I'm still learning about PC hardware, so I'm not sure whether I should focus on memory, the graphics card, cooling, or something else.

With a budget of about $200, the most practical upgrade is probably 32GB of RAM if you currently have only 16GB, especially if it’s a single stick. Ideally, use a matched 2x16GB DDR4 kit that runs at a speed supported by your motherboard. If you already have 2x8GB and your games run well, the upgrade may not make a dramatic difference, so check your memory usage first.

I’m still figuring out exactly what parts are installed, but I’ll check the RAM configuration and clean the PC first since dust and temperatures could also be affecting performance.

Your current system is already well balanced for 1080p gaming, so I wouldn’t rush into replacing the graphics card. The RTX 4060 Ti’s 8GB of VRAM can become a limitation in some newer games, but a worthwhile GPU upgrade would likely cost more than $200 unless you sell the current card and find a good deal. First clean the case and filters, check CPU and GPU temperatures, and identify what is actually limiting performance before spending money.

Before buying anything, check whether your 16GB of RAM is one 16GB stick or two 8GB sticks. Use a tool such as HWiNFO to identify the exact motherboard, RAM speed, number of slots, power supply, and cooler. That information will make it much easier to choose a compatible upgrade.
