I'm building a non-gaming office PC around a Ryzen 5 9600X. The integrated graphics should be enough, but I'm curious whether there's an inexpensive dedicated GPU that would offer even a small performance improvement. I'm not interested in high-end cards such as the RTX 5070 Ti or Radeon RX 9070 XT, and even an RTX 5070 or RX 9070 seems excessive. Is there any low-cost card that makes sense, or should I stick with the integrated graphics?

You could find older used cards such as a GTX 1660, RTX 2060, RTX 3050, or similar Radeon models at low prices, but they’re still overkill for office applications. Very old entry-level cards like a GT 1030 may not even be an upgrade over the integrated graphics, so the purchase price and extra power draw may not be worthwhile.
For ordinary office work, the integrated graphics are probably the best choice. They can handle multiple displays and 4K video for basic tasks, while a dedicated card would add cost, heat, power use, and another potential fan failure without making everyday work noticeably faster.
A dedicated card only really makes sense if you need extra monitor outputs, specific video encoding or decoding features, or another workload such as 3D modeling. Check how many ports your motherboard provides before buying anything. If two displays are enough, the integrated graphics should cover it.
If you specifically want a small, modern dedicated card, an Intel Arc A310 is a reasonable low-end option, especially for media features and multi-monitor use. An Arc A380 could also work, but it’s more performance than an office PC needs.
The A380 is generally unnecessary for basic office work, but it can be useful if hardware video encoding and decoding are important.
