Which Canadian domain registrars support separate users and billing roles?

I'm in a jurisdiction with a "buy Canadian" requirement, so I'm looking to move away from GoDaddy. Ideally, I need a Canadian registrar that supports multiple individual user accounts rather than shared credentials, with separate permissions for account administration and billing.

Hover and EasyDNS appear to have limitations in this area, while Gandi may support the features I need, although I have no firsthand experience with them. What other registrars should I consider, particularly ones that are Canadian-owned or operate in Canada and offer role-based access?

EasyDNS has been a solid Canadian registrar for me, with support handled in Canada. It’s worth asking them directly about separate users and billing permissions, since their service and support are good even if the exact role separation isn’t obvious from the website.

FullHost supports multiple users, and their .ca pricing is competitive. I’m not sure whether billing can be assigned as its own role, but their support has been responsive, so they should be able to confirm that before you commit. Hover and Tucows are Canadian companies, but Hover may still charge in U.S. dollars and may not provide the user separation you want. Gandi has also been mentioned as an international alternative, though its pricing and ownership have changed substantially, so I’d compare the current terms carefully.

Webnames.ca is probably the strongest fit. They’re based in British Columbia, are widely used by corporate and government customers, and offer a multi-user Domain and Account Management Toolkit with different account types and permissions. Their pricing can be higher than some competitors, but they’re considered reliable and have the organizational features you’re looking for.

OpenSRS may be worth investigating if you’re comfortable using a reseller platform. It provides a management panel where an administrator can assign account roles, including separating billing and operational access. It may involve reseller fees, but it gives you more control than a typical consumer registrar account.

Rebel.com and Grape.ca are other Canadian options to check. I can’t confirm whether they provide a dedicated billing role, so I’d verify their current permission model before switching, but they may meet the Canadian-service requirement.
