Which GPU would be a good fit for this gaming PC build?

I'm putting together a gaming PC and would appreciate some advice choosing a graphics card. I already own the 1TB SSD and 850W power supply, so those parts need to stay. The build currently uses a Ryzen 7 5800XT, and I'm considering a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB or something faster if the budget makes sense. Are there any other components I should change?

Before recommending a specific GPU, what is your total graphics-card budget, and are you gaming at 1080p, 1440p, or 4K? Those details can change whether the RX 9060 XT, RX 9070, or another option offers the best value.

You could consider moving to the AM5 platform with a Ryzen 5 7500F, a B650 motherboard, and DDR5 memory. It generally performs better in games than the 5800XT and gives you a much better future upgrade path. If you do this, use a matched 2-stick memory kit rather than a single 16GB module, ideally 2x16GB DDR5-6000 with low latency. The RX 9060 XT 16GB would pair well with that setup.

The Ryzen 7 5800XT’s extra cores do not add much for most games, so the graphics card should be chosen around your display and performance goals. An RX 9060 XT 16GB is a reasonable 1080p option. I’d also add intake fans at the front and bottom of the case to improve airflow.

The Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB looks like a sensible match for this build. If your budget stretches further, a Radeon RX 9070 or 9070 XT would provide a noticeable performance increase. The exact choice should depend on your monitor resolution, refresh rate, and target frame rate.
