I'm using an iPhone 16 Pro with T-Mobile. Cellular service is enabled, and I can still make calls, send texts, and receive notifications, but apps and other features that require an internet connection won't load whenever I'm away from Wi‑Fi. What could be preventing cellular data from working?

The Outer Banks can have spotty or congested coverage, and T-Mobile may slow data in crowded areas or after a plan’s high-speed allowance is reached. Check whether you have a strong 5G or LTE signal, try switching between 5G and LTE, and verify your account hasn’t been throttled or had its data paused.
If you have a VPN installed, open the VPN app and disconnect it there instead of only using the Control Center. Some VPNs reconnect automatically, and a carrier’s separate tethering or VPN-related data limit may have been used up.
Check the Control Center and make sure Cellular Data is actually enabled. Your phone can still handle calls, SMS, and some notifications even when the cellular-data switch is off. Also check Settings > Cellular and confirm that data access is allowed for the apps you’re testing.

I still receive notifications, but I can’t use anything that requires an internet connection.
