I'm setting up one keyboard and mouse for both a Mac and a Windows 11 PC using a UGreen USB switch. The keyboard and mouse work normally on the Mac, but on the PC the mouse eventually starts moving continuously in the last direction I used until it reaches the edge of the screen. This only happens when the mouse is connected through its 2.4 GHz wireless receiver. A direct wired connection works normally, while the wireless connection usually behaves for 10–15 seconds before the runaway movement begins. I tried a second, newer UGreen switch with the same result. Changing USB power-management settings didn't help. Has anyone found a fix for this kind of issue?

A practical workaround would be using a mouse and keyboard that support both Bluetooth and a separate wireless receiver. You could use Bluetooth with the Mac and the receiver with the PC, avoiding the USB switch altogether. It’s less convenient than a single-button switch, but it may bypass whatever compatibility problem is causing the runaway input.
Since the problem seems specific to the Windows PC and the wireless receiver, check that the motherboard BIOS, chipset drivers, and USB-controller drivers are current. A firmware or chipset compatibility issue could be mishandling the receiver through the switch. It’s also worth checking the manufacturer’s support pages directly rather than relying only on Windows Update, since Windows may miss an important driver or offer an unsuitable one.
That’s close to what I’ve been doing, but switching connections manually is inconvenient. Bluetooth also takes a moment to wake and reconnect whenever the mouse sleeps, so I’d really prefer to get the USB switch working properly.
