I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 340-15IAP with a Celeron processor, and the Novo button is broken. The computer previously failed to boot and displayed a "BIOS not detected" error, although I eventually managed to get it working again. Now CHKDSK has been running for a very long time. Could the earlier boot problem be related, and how long should I let the scan continue?

There isn’t enough information to tell whether CHKDSK is simply repairing a damaged Windows installation or struggling with a failing drive. Let it continue for as long as possible rather than interrupting it. If Windows eventually starts, check the drive’s health with a basic SMART utility such as CrystalDiskInfo, or use a more thorough diagnostic tool if necessary.

Windows still doesn’t open, so I can’t run those drive-checking tools yet.
