I've been testing out my 9800X3D processor, and while it performs well in daily use, I noticed it gets really hot when I run Prime95—staying around 95°C with peaks at 100°C, and it only manages core clocks of 4.1GHz. I've swapped out the cooler I originally thought was the issue, and I've double-checked the thermal paste and contact, so I'm confused because I can still touch the heat pipes without burning myself. Can anyone help me figure out what might be going wrong?

Have you considered using ECO mode? A lot of tests, like from Level1Tech, show that it can reduce temperatures significantly without a big performance hit.
With your cooler setup, airflow may be a factor. If you're using an air cooler, ensure it's securely mounted and consider reapplying thermal paste for better contact. What model are you using?
If your CPU is stressing at 95°C, that's definitely not fine, and it sounds like you're experiencing thermal throttling. These CPUs should max out around 5.2GHz. It seems like there could still be a mounting issue. What cooler are you using now, and how's your case ventilation?
The Define7 isn't terrible for airflow, but if you're having issues, you might want to try remounting your cooler to ensure it has good contact.
I'm currently using a Cooler Master cooler after previously having a Bequiet ProRock4.
When it comes to CPUs, the temperature during regular use, like gaming, matters more than in stress tests. How hot does it run during normal operations?
Generally, it's around 60-70°C, but my GPU does seem to be the bottleneck.
I'm using a Hyper 212 120mm right now.
