Why isn’t my GTX 1660 Super being detected or outputting video?

My GTX 1660 Super powers on and its fans spin, but it produces no display and doesn't appear in Windows Device Manager, so the driver installer says no compatible GPU was found. I'm currently using the motherboard's HDMI output and integrated graphics to access Windows. The GPU is installed in a B650 Aorus Elite AX system, and the monitor cable is connected directly to the graphics card when I test it. I've already reseated the card, but the problem remains. What should I check next?

Check the physical installation again: remove the card, inspect the slot, reinstall it until the retention clip locks, and verify every power connection. Since it has never worked in this newly installed Windows setup, also test whether the card is detected in BIOS before troubleshooting the Windows driver.

Make sure the 1660 Super has its required PCIe power connector from the power supply. The motherboard slot only provides about 75 W, while the card needs more, so connect the correct 6-pin or 8-pin cable firmly. Fans spinning doesn’t necessarily mean the card is fully powered.

Updating the motherboard BIOS may help with PCIe compatibility. Use the board’s built-in USB BIOS update method if needed, then reset the display and PCIe settings and test the card with the monitor connected directly to its output.

Since this is a B650 board paired with an older PCIe 3.0 card, try entering BIOS through the motherboard video output and manually set the main PCIe x16 slot speed from Auto to Gen 3. Also check that the primary display setting is PCIe or PEG instead of integrated graphics.
