I recently installed Lingmo OS 3.0.5, and my primary Wi‑Fi network appears in the available networks list. However, even with the correct password, it refuses to connect. My phone's hotspot connects successfully, so I'm not sure what's different about my main router or network. The computer uses a Realtek RTL8821CE wireless card. What should I check to diagnose or fix this?

Since the hotspot works, the adapter and basic driver support are probably functioning. The problem may be related to the router’s security mode, saved NetworkManager profile, or compatibility with the router’s band settings. Try forgetting the existing network and reconnecting, then test with WPA2-only security or the 2.4 GHz band if your router supports both. If Lingmo continues to be unreliable, a more established distribution such as Fedora with GNOME may provide better-tested hardware support and still be customizable to resemble macOS.
The wireless card model is useful here, since the RTL8821CE can sometimes need the appropriate Realtek driver or firmware package. Check the connection details and system logs for an authentication or driver error, and compare whether the router is using WPA2, WPA3, or a mixed security mode. Updating the kernel and firmware packages may also help. If you’re unsure what hardware support is active, run `lspci -nnk` and look for the network controller and its loaded kernel driver.
