My PS5 recently stopped working, so I'm planning to build my first gaming PC. I mainly play CPU-focused games such as Rainbow Six Siege and Fortnite, but I also occasionally play more GPU-demanding games, like Minecraft with shaders. My current parts list is an RTX 4070, Ryzen 7 5700X3D, B550 motherboard, 32GB of DDR4 memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD, a 750W ASRock power supply, a Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 cooler, and a case with a mesh front panel. I researched the parts using videos and build guides, but I'm not completely sure they're compatible or whether this is a good setup for the price. Is there anything I should change or double-check before buying?

The parts appear broadly compatible, but verify that the B550 motherboard supports the 5700X3D with its installed BIOS version. Some boards may need a BIOS update before that processor works. Pick a case with good front-to-back airflow rather than choosing only by appearance, and make sure it has enough fans and clearance for the graphics card and CPU cooler.
The build should work well overall. A 750W power supply gives the RTX 4070 plenty of headroom, and make sure the motherboard includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth if you need those features. Also choose an established SSD brand with good reliability and warranty coverage rather than buying the cheapest drive available.
Since you’re spending this much, it may be worth considering a newer DDR5 platform instead. The current Ryzen 7 5700X3D and B550 combination is still very capable for gaming, but AM4 and DDR4 offer less upgrade room if you want to improve the CPU later. DDR5 will cost more upfront, though, so the existing build can still make sense if the price is significantly lower.
