I installed a BIOS update through MSI Center and left the computer alone while it completed. The PC shut down and restarted, but now it always goes to Windows Startup Repair. Choosing "Exit to Windows" returns to the same screen, and the reset options fail whether I select "Remove everything" or restore from a backup. The message says, "Startup Repair couldn't repair your PC," with the log located at G:recoveryWindowsREWinre.wimSystem32LogfilesSrtTrail.txt. This is a desktop, and I'm looking for the safest way to get it working again.

For future BIOS updates, it’s generally safer to download the exact BIOS file from the motherboard manufacturer and flash it from a USB drive through the firmware’s built-in utility instead of using a Windows-based updater. Since the update may have changed firmware settings or failed to preserve the correct version, download the BIOS version currently installed and the previous version if possible, then flash the appropriate file from a USB drive. Make sure the file matches the exact motherboard model, and avoid interrupting the process.

It’s a desktop, and I understand now why using a USB drive is recommended. This is my only computer, so I’ll need to obtain a USB drive and find a way to download the correct BIOS files from my phone or another device.
