Admin Password Issues on New Windows 11 Machine

I'm currently setting up a new Windows 11 Pro machine and used my user credentials for the initial setup. Everything seemed fine until I tried to install a certificate for SSL inspection; it's now asking for an admin password. The catch is, there are no other accounts set up on the machine. I've attempted to use both the user credentials I created and the Microsoft 365 admin credentials, but neither worked. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just a quick tip—try typing the password with Caps Lock on. It sounds silly, but it’s caught a lot of people off guard before!

Is your machine joined to a domain? That could affect your admin access. If it’s not, the account you set up should typically have admin rights, especially if it's a personal device. You might want to check the local users and groups with lusrmgr.msc to see how admin rights are assigned. Let me know if you need more details!

Thanks for the reply! It's not domain joined, just a personal device.

If it's joined to Entra or AD, they often have systems like LAPS that change the local admin password regularly. Check if your device shows up in Intune, and see if you can manage it from there! It might save you some headaches trying to guess passwords.

I can see it in Intune, and yes, it’s configured as a corporate device. But the lusrmgr.msc doesn't list any specific accounts for admin.
