AIO or Air Cooler: Which Is Better for My Setup?

Hey folks! I'm in the market for a cooler to pair with my new Ryzen 7 5700x3d. I've come across some challenges because my RAM seems to create issues with certain air coolers, like the Peerless Assassin 120SE. I want to keep things budget-friendly, ideally under $80, but I'm having trouble finding a cooler that will fit in my setup. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Here's my current PC setup:

- Case: Deepcool Matrexx 55 V3 add-rgb 3F
- Motherboard: ASRock B450M Steel Legend
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x3d
- GPU: 3080
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4x8gb
- Storage: Inland Professional 480GB SSD
- Power Supply: 850W

Regarding the Peerless Assassin 120SE, have you thought about swapping the rightmost fan over to the left side? That might help with clearance.

I can't say how tall your RAM is, but I use the Noctua NH-D15 on my 5800x3d. Lifting the fan slightly allowed it to fit without issues, and the cooling performance is excellent—I've had no need for an AIO with my setup.

I've found that Thermalright has some great AIO coolers within your budget. They are efficient and have good cooling capabilities.

Do you have a specific model in mind? I took a quick glance and the Frozen Magic 240 seems like a solid choice!

If you're leaning toward air coolers, you might try mounting the front fan a bit higher. This can create extra clearance for your RAM, which can help with fit.

I've read about that too, but I've noticed that if all four RAM slots are occupied, the radiator could still conflict with the RAM sticks.
