I've been diving deep into research about becoming a full stack cross-platform app developer, but I'd love some advice from experienced programmers to confirm I'm heading in the right direction. My goal is to eventually freelance remotely and create my own apps. I'm aiming for skills that are in high demand, offer good pay, and allow me to be versatile in my projects, all while trying to enter the market quickly since time is limited.
Currently, I'm focusing on a tech stack of Python with Django, Java with React Native, and PostgreSQL. I've heard that while Java and React Native are faster to learn and more flexible than Kotlin, Kotlin is considered more modern and sought after by larger companies. Is this true? I plan to start with React and hopefully learn Kotlin later on if needed. Just want to ensure I'm investing my time wisely and not learning the wrong stuff!

It really depends on where you're looking to work, but React is definitely in high demand pretty much everywhere. If you're aiming for remote clients, React should serve you well since it's popular even among overseas companies. Just keep in mind that different regions might have varying demand for languages like C# versus Java, so it's good to stay flexible!
In many cases, companies don't really care which language you started with during interviews; they often just want to see how well you can code. If you become proficient in one language, picking up another is usually pretty quick. For instance, you could master Java, apply for a Kotlin job, and then just learn Kotlin on the job. Focus on really honing your skills with whatever tech stack you settle on rather than stressing about finding the perfect one right now. There's always time to adapt later!
