Hey everyone, I've been wondering if the new 13th generation Intel processors will work with my 12th generation motherboard. I know it might be a silly question, but I couldn't find a clear answer. Also, does this apply to the 14th generation too?

Yes, 13th gen Intel processors are compatible with 12th gen motherboards, but you'll need to make sure your motherboard's BIOS is updated to the latest version to avoid any issues. This goes for the 14th gen chips as well!
Honestly, finding this info is pretty straightforward. Most 600 and 700 series motherboards support all three generations—12th, 13th, and 14th. Just check the specs on any decent motherboard, and you’ll see it spelled out. For example, the Prime H610M-K ARGB specs show this compatibility.
Thanks for clearing that up! I didn't realize a lot of this info was readily available. I only checked socket compatibility and found out about LGA 1700. Just got a bit confused with the different codenames like Alder Lake and Raptor Lake.
