I came across a listing for a 5090 Suprim Liquid on eBay priced at $1,450, and it feels too good to be true. Can anyone share their thoughts on the likelihood that this GPU could be fake?

Totally agree. It's not uncommon for scammers to strip out the actual GPU and sell just the cooler or even just a picture of the GPU. Definitely sounds suspicious to me.
I've encountered this before too. I once found a legit deal after checking multiple listings, but a lot of them were just scams. Make sure to verify before purchasing!
There's a pretty high chance that it's a scam. Online marketplaces aren't known for offering GPUs at such steep discounts. You could end up getting nothing or just a box of rocks instead of the actual card.
Just an FYI: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you're really considering it, go in person if possible and verify the hardware first.
Yeah, it's surprisingly common to see fake GPUs. Some sellers even modify the firmware to make it appear as a different model altogether. Be careful out there!
