Best Backup Solutions for Microsoft 365: Looking for Recommendations

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I recently encountered a request for proposal (RFP) from a company that's trying to optimize their storage costs, especially for their Office 365 data. I did some research and found a lot of impressive products that specialize in Microsoft 365 backups and storage optimization. The two that seem to fit their needs are Veeam Data Cloud and AvePoint Opus. However, since this company is a small to medium enterprise (SME), I think AvePoint might be too much, as it typically requires at least 500 users.

I'm looking for your suggestions on two cost-effective solutions that specialize in Microsoft 365 backups. Ideally, they should have a user-friendly interface, be easy to set up, and include features that ensure security and compliance with regulations like GDPR. I'd really appreciate your help!

I highly suggest Veeam for Microsoft 365 backups. It's easy to set up, and the cool thing is they don’t charge based on how much data you back up. I even heard you can get 99 years of retention at no extra cost! It makes managing backups really effortless, especially with new user accounts automatically added.

That sounds great! Really good to know. As for a second recommendation, what do you suggest?

We’ve had excellent experiences with Datto SaaS Protect (formerly Backupify). Used it for about a decade with no issues!

I’m currently using Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud backup. It’s super simple to use and quite affordable with a per-user license model. Plus, it also backs up Entra ID, which is an added bonus!

That’s really helpful, thanks for the insight! The Entra ID feature seems invaluable.

I definitely recommend Veeam Data Platform for SaaS. It's a solid choice for backing up Microsoft 365, and you can check it out on their site. It’s pretty renowned for its reliable service!

Thanks! Veeam is already my top pick, but I’m hoping for a second option too.
