I bought a prebuilt PC about six years ago with specs from a friend, and I'm now noticing that some games are pushing my CPU usage pretty high. I'm wondering if I can upgrade my AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU without needing to change other components, and if so, what would be the best upgrade option? My motherboard is an ASUSTeK Prime B450-Plus.

If you’re looking for budget options, the Ryzen 5 5500X3D is pretty impressive for gaming and is currently priced at around $147.87 on AliExpress. If you can't access that, check out B&H for the Ryzen 5 5600 at around $135. Just make sure to avoid the standard 5500 model, as it has lower cache compared to the 5600.
For a solid upgrade, check out the AMD Ryzen 5 5600. It’s a great option for gaming and usually available at a good price. Just remember to update your BIOS before making any changes!
Thanks for the tip!
I’d suggest considering the Ryzen 5 5700X or the 5800X as they both offer fantastic performance. The difference in price can often be minimal, so if you can find either of those on sale, they would be worth it. Just don’t forget about the BIOS update for compatibility.

Got it, thanks! This helps a lot!
