Best CPU Upgrade Options from MicroCenter for My System

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from an i9-9900K. My current specs include a 5700XT and 32GB of DDR4 3600 RAM. I recently bought a 5070 Founders edition and want to make some upgrades after having this PC for about five years. I've been eyeing some AMD bundles at MicroCenter but I'm torn between a few options:

1. 7600X3D with 16GB of DDR5-6000
2. 7800X3D with 32GB of DDR5-6000
3. 9700X with 32GB of DDR5-6000

I'm leaning towards the 7600X3D but I'm also considering the others due to the 32GB of RAM for future-proofing. I mainly play games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Madden, and Valorant. I'd love your advice on which bundle makes the most sense!

The games you're into really take advantage of an X3D CPU. I'm with you, options 1 and 2 seem like the best bets.

All three options have their perks, but if you're mainly gaming, the 7600X3D is a great choice. You can always upgrade your RAM later. Timing isn’t great for RAM prices, but having 32GB is nice if you can swing it without breaking the bank.

Honestly, you might want to hold off for about 6 to 9 months. The new Intel Nova Lake and AM6 chips are on the way and they're expected to be a lot better than what we have now. If you can wait, it could be worth it in the long run! But if you're looking to upgrade now, the 7800X3D would be a solid choice over the 9900K.

Yeah, but don’t forget that the AM6 might be pricey at launch. I'd say if you need an upgrade soon, go for the 7800X3D! It's gonna be a big jump from what you have.

I think option 2, the 7800X3D, is your best bet. You could always wait to find a used Zen 6 chip later for the next upgrade cycle—seems like a smart plan!

I usually check CineBench R23 scores for CPU comparisons. It’s not the whole story, but it’s a good reference for performance under heavy load. Definitely consider that when making your choice!

I’d be careful with that 7600X3D bundle since it only has one 16GB DIMM. Look for options that offer dual DIMMs instead. If not, the 7800X3D or 9800X3D bundles are definitely solid alternatives!

If budget allows, definitely go for the 7800X3D! Sometimes it's worth spending a bit more if it means a noticeable difference in performance down the line.
