Best Fans for Quiet Airflow in Fractal Design North Case

I'm working on making my PC quieter and I've decided to upgrade the fans to enhance airflow without all the noise. I'm not very experienced in setting up airflow systems, so I could use some guidance. Here's what I currently have:

- Fractal Design North case
- NZXT Kraken Elite 240 RGB for cooling (mounted at the top for exhaust)
- Two stock Aspect 140 mm PWM fans at the front for intake

My setup includes an RTX 4090 FE and a Ryzen 9 7900X3D. I'm considering replacing the front intake fans for something quieter and more efficient, possibly switching to either three Noctua 120mm fans or two Noctua/Silent Wings 140mm. I'm aiming for optimal performance while minimizing noise and vibrations.

Here are my specific questions:
1. What would be the best fans to buy for the front intake? Please specify brand, model, size, and the number of fans.
2. For quieter performance, should I go with 3x 120mm fans or 2x 140mm fans?
3. Should I add an exhaust fan to the back of the case? If so, I'd prefer it to match the aesthetics of my AIO (the NZXT RGB).
4. Do I need to get the NZXT Cam controller to manage all the fans through one app? I like the curves I created for the AIO fans and pump, but managing case fan curves through the BIOS is a bit inconvenient, especially since I can't see the case fans in the open-source fan controller app.

I have similar questions regarding my cooling setup! I'm currently using an Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 240 and an Asus Prime 5070 Ti. Would love to hear about any recommendations based on noise levels.

The Aspect 140mm fans are not known for being very quiet, which might be the source of your noise issues. My recommendation would be to swap them out for a couple of Arctic P14 fans instead. They offer great airflow while keeping the noise down.

In terms of fan size, 2x 140mm is generally better than 3x 120mm for quiet performance since the larger fans can move more air at lower speeds. With your AIO cooler already exhausting from the top, you shouldn't need another exhaust fan.

Lastly, you don't need to get the NZXT Cam controller unless you prefer to manage everything through one app. It helps streamline the process, but it's not absolutely necessary if you're comfortable with BIOS adjustments.

You should definitely check out the Gamers Nexus review on the Fractal North case. They conduct various airflow tests that can give you a clearer picture regarding fan performance and setup. It’s very informative!
