I'm currently using a WD Green 240GB SSD for my boot drive, but I'm running out of space and need to upgrade to an NVMe drive. I've come across a few options based on current market prices:
1. Crucial P310 2TB for about $190
2. WD Black SN850P 1TB for $120
3. Samsung 990 Pro 1TB for $110
The SN850P and 990 Pro are marketed with PS5 in mind, but I've heard they perform well on PCs too. The Crucial P310 has a larger capacity which is appealing, but I know the other two are higher-end options that might offer better durability. I'm planning to use this new SSD mainly for my operating system, some creative software like Adobe, and possibly a couple of games, since I mainly store my larger files and games on my SATA SSD and HDD.

I'd recommend going with the Samsung 990 Pro. It offers excellent performance and is really reliable, which is important for a boot drive. The Crucial P310 is QLC, which might affect its longevity compared to the 990 Pro. You're right in considering size, but for a boot drive, quality often trumps capacity. You won't regret the extra spend on the Samsung!
I think the WD Black SN850P is also a solid choice, especially if you're gaming. It’s fast and has good reviews, plus pricing is competitive. Just be sure your motherboard supports NVMe well to get the most out of it!
Thanks! Yeah, I'm checking compatibility with my motherboard to ensure smooth installation.

Totally agree! The speed and performance of the 990 Pro are fantastic. Plus, it should keep up well with your Adobe apps and gaming needs.
