BSOD Trouble on Cold Boot – Anyone Seen This Before?

Hey everyone! I'm dealing with an annoying issue on my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 laptop (AMD, DDR5 RAM) where I'm getting Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) only when I do a cold boot or if the system has been off for several hours. Usually, things stabilize once I'm into Windows, but I often face a couple of BSODs to get there. The common errors I encounter include `PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA`, `SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED`, and `IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL`. After putting in my BitLocker key, I'm finally allowed to enter the system.

I've tried lots of troubleshooting methods, including:

- Running MemTest86 for 15 passes with no errors.
- Checking SSD health (96% in CrystalDiskInfo).
- Removing unused drivers and resetting the page file.
- Running SFC and DISM tools without any integrity issues.
- Disabling Fast Startup and Hibernation, among other things.

I'm wary about completely removing all ASUS software like Armoury Crate, which some users have said caused issues in the past. Since my system only malfunctions on a cold boot, I'm looking for any insights or quirky solutions, as this has been super frustrating. If you need more details, just ask! Thanks!

It sounds frustrating! Getting dump files could help in diagnosing the BSODs you're facing. If you can boot into Windows (or Safe Mode if necessary), check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for crash logs. Upload those files using a link like catbox.moe or mediafire.com, as those seem to work best. The more dump files, the better for a proper analysis! Let us know what you find!

Thanks! I’ll check for those dump files and get back to you.

If the BSODs only happen when your laptop is cold, it might be a connection issue where components are loose and need to expand with heat to work properly. Consider giving your memory and drives a reseat, but if you're concerned about voiding your warranty, maybe just document it for now. Also, check if your laptop generates any dump files.

Yeah, I’m wary about messing with the internals since it's still under warranty. Checking for dump files is my next move.

For further insights into your system, please download this tool: [Specify Download](https://spec-ify.com/download). After running it, share the generated link with us so we can take a closer look at the logs. This report is auto-deleted after 24 hours, so it's secure. Let’s see what we can find!

I ran the tool and here’s my link: [https://spec-ify.com/profile/d2f99aaf](https://spec-ify.com/profile/d2f99aaf). Could you take a look?

What SSD model do you have? Knowing that could help us narrow down issues. Also, there's a tool called Specify that gathers system logs and can give us a better snapshot of your setup for troubleshooting. If you're interested, I can send you instructions on how to get it running.

The SSD is a WD PC SN740 SSDPNQD-512G-1002. I’d appreciate those instructions!
