I recently bought an Apple Pencil Pro from OfferUp, but it turns out it doesn't work with my iPad because it's locked to someone else's Apple account. I've learned the hard way that these new Pencils sync to accounts, which I didn't check beforehand. I'm hoping to get some advice on how the Apple Store handles situations like this. As an avid Apple user and a former certified technician, I realize that I need direct help from Apple. Will they be able to assist if I show proof of purchase from the seller on OfferUp, even though they're not communicating with me? I spent $100 on it and bought a new iPad just to use this Pencil. I'm feeling pretty frustrated and would love to hear if anyone has had a similar experience and what the outcome was.

Unfortunately, just showing them a purchase from someone on the internet won't be enough proof for Apple. They usually require an original invoice or receipt from an authorized reseller. Your best options are to try contacting the seller for help or just consider buying a new Pencil instead.
I reached out to the seller and he was completely unhelpful. He basically just took my money and left me to deal with this. It sucks because I love Apple products, but I feel like they should offer a little more support for loyal customers in situations like this.
