I'm planning to clone my SSD, which has my operating system and files, to another SSD using Acronis True Image for Crucial. My question is if it's safe to do this while booted from the original drive. Are there any risks involved in cloning a drive that is currently in use?

Yes, it is possible to clone a drive that's currently in use, but it's generally recommended to use software that can handle it well. For instance, Macrium Reflect is a good choice for this task.
I've used software that creates a full backup of the active drive. Then, you can restore that backup onto a different drive without any issues.
You can clone your drive while the OS is live. Check out this video manual by Crucial for a step-by-step process.
Most cloning software struggles with active drives. I know Macrium Reflect is a reliable option for this, but other solutions might also work.
I suggest using a bootable USB with Acronis or another cloning tool. Cloning works best when you're not booted from the drive you're cloning.
