Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with two-factor authentication. A while back, after getting my phone repaired at the Apple Store, it somehow got activated without my consent. I was on a cross-country trip and couldn't figure out how to turn it off until I got back home, but by then, the two-week window to deactivate it had passed. Apple told me there was no way to turn it off, and I couldn't create a new account without it either. I'm tired of this situation! Is there any way, even a hack (legitimate or not), to create an Apple ID without two-factor authentication? I just want the simplicity of one password for access. I don't care for the extra security, and I don't do any banking on my phone or save payment info. All I really do is browse the web, use GPS, and make calls. It's driving me nuts!

Honestly, while I get the frustration, two-factor authentication is there for a reason. Even if you don't keep critical data on your phone, there are so many scams out there that it really does make sense to have that extra layer of protection. It can be quite a hassle, though.
Have you considered trying another device? If you really can't deal with it, you might want to look into getting a basic phone or even a cheap Android device, which might give you that simplicity you're craving.
I feel your pain! Unfortunately, there's no way to bypass two-factor authentication once it's activated. Apple has made it a requirement for added security, especially if you're using any of their services like iCloud. It's annoying, but just think of it as an extra safety net.
Exactly! It's frustrating but also helps protect your data from being easily stolen.
I agree! It might seem unnecessary, but it can save you a lot of headache down the line.
